BRIEF REPORT A novel monopartite dsRNA virus from rhododendron
نویسندگان
چکیده
A dsRNA molecule of 3.4 kbp was extracted from two great rhododendron samples from Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Sequencing of this molecule suggests that it represents the genome of an undescribed virus, for which the provisional name rhododendron virus A (RhVA) is proposed. In phylogenetic analyses, this virus clustered together with southern tomato virus and related viruses, forming a coherent and distinct clade among dsRNA viruses. RhVA likely belongs to a yet-to-beestablished taxon of viruses with a non-segmented dsRNA genome.

Is Really Weather or Tropical Conditions Affects an Outbreak of COVID-19: A Brief Report
Corona viruses are large group of viruses that can cause sickness ranging from normal flu to severe respiratory diseases. The new novel corona virus (nCOV-19) or COVID-19 is a new kind of pandemic virus that did not identified before in humans. Global nations have heightened their surveillance in the quick diagnosis of potential cases across the COVID-19. After it had originated in China more c...
متن کاملEuprosterna elaeasa virus genome sequence and evolution of the Tetraviridae family: emergence of bipartite genomes and conservation of the VPg signal with the dsRNA Birnaviridae family.
The Tetraviridae is a family of non-enveloped positive-stranded RNA insect viruses that is defined by the T=4 symmetry of virions. We report the complete Euprosterna elaeasa virus (EeV) genome sequence of 5698 nt with no poly(A) tail and two overlapping open reading frames, encoding the replicase and capsid precursor, with approximately 67% amino acid identity to Thosea asigna virus (TaV). The ...
متن کاملMolecular characterization of a novel cryptic virus infecting pigeonpea plants
A new member of the genus Deltapartitivirus was identified containing three dsRNAs with an estimated size of 1.71, 1.49 and 1.43 kb. The dsRNAs were extracted from symptomless pigeonpea [Cajanus cajan (L.) Millspaugh] plants cv. Erra Kandulu. This new virus with 4.64 kb genome was tentatively named Arhar cryptic virus-1 (ArCV-1). The genomic RNAs were amplified and characterized by sequence ind...
متن کاملCharacterization of a novel bipartite double-stranded RNA mycovirus conferring hypovirulence in the phytopathogenic fungus Botrytis porri.
The ascomycete Botrytis porri causes clove rot and leaf blight of garlic worldwide. We report here the biological and molecular features of a novel bipartite double-stranded RNA (dsRNA) mycovirus named Botrytis porri RNA virus 1 (BpRV1) from the hypovirulent strain GarlicBc-72 of B. porri. The BpRV1 genome comprises two dsRNAs, dsRNA-1 (6,215 bp) and dsRNA-2 (5,879 bp), which share sequence ide...
متن کاملComplete genome of a novel endornavirus assembled from next-generation sequence data.
Endornaviruses have large double-stranded RNA (dsRNA) genomes that carry a single open reading frame (ORF). Here we report the complete genome of a novel endornavirus, assembled from next-generation sequence data generated from Vitis vinifera-extracted dsRNA. Two different fungal hosts have been identified for this virus, suggesting that horizontal transmission of the virus is possible.
